Your Name In Landsat

Your Name in Landsat was originally conceived in 2021 as an interactive web activity for our annual Camp Landsat campaign.

At the time, I had no experience in web design or development, and the project didn’t gain much traction. After a few years of learning and growing as a web developer, we decided to revisit the project.

The response was overwhelmingly positive—today, it is the most visited page on the landsat.gsfc.nasa.gov website, with millions of page views.

In 2025, Your Name in Landsat was featured as the official Earth Day poster for NASA Flagship in 2025. My team and I worked on compositing high-quality, pansharpened versions of the satellite images for the poster, which were previously compressed for web viewing.

This recognition was a tremendous honor, and remains a major highlight of my time with NASA.

This project was featured in numerous articles across the web, and continues to be shared and written about, educating the public on Earth observation.

It was highlighted by outlets such as Forbes, Hackaday, and Space.com, to name a few.
